As occurs every year, a bill to outlaw bestiality was introduced in West Virginia. West Virginia is the only state that does not explicitly criminalize the sexual abuse of animals.
"It died in a Senate committee, and the West Virginia legislature adjourned for the year."
Do you have the names and government addresses and office phone numbers of the members of the committee that allowed this bill to fail? Otherwise I can try to find them. They shouldn't seek re-election again ever. There is a big world outside the small world of this committee and my guess too is not many in West Virginia know this.
Thank you because it takes little effort to call and e-mail and just ask the pointed question "Can you explain your position supporting bestiality, I am trying to understand it ." They never think anything goes outside closed doors.
Be prepared for them to claim it is already illegal under the general animal cruelty statute. Keep the legislative sponsor's testimony in your back pocket:
“I’ve been putting this bill forward, and now this amendment forward, for several years. I get a call from Charleston Police probably once every couple of months about prosecutors that drop these cases. Recently I saw a policeman and he stopped me and begged me to introduce the bill again. So I saw an opportunity to do it in this bill, and yes, we would be the 50th state that would ban this explicitly in code.”
And that explicitly banning it would resolve any ambiguity.
Dear Nathan, You once again point out the logic and Common Sense of what normal people would do in this absurd case of the West Virginia senate declining to end bestiality/rape of animals by “mentally unstable “ humans. These sick people need to face imprisonment and required psychological training for their immoral attitude and potential abuse of Sentient Beings/animals as would be required if they performed such illegal actions on children. Nathan, thank you again for being our Ambassador of Compassion and Common Sense and Animal Rights.❤️🐶😸🙏
Once again, thanks for championing causes to help animals.

Thank you for the heads up on to expect an evasive response. You have to wonder why they prefer ambiguity.
