It's actually no surprise really. Our society has been heading down the path of degeneracy for quite some time now. Things that in the past would have gotten a person arrested and put away for a long time are now celebrated, and those who oppose such behaviors are called "haters". (I'm thinking here of inappropriate, quite graphic so-called "books" that very small children really should not be made to see at school). I am so sorry for Professor Singer. Failing to find a consenting adult in his own species, he can only find sexual pleasure by forcing himself on unwitting other species. I always knew, from my days in academia, that these so called scientists, researchers, philosophers etc are among the most stupid and cruel humans. This psychopath proves the truth of this. They are. What is hardest to sort out is what does one do then? Like Darth Vader they have gone to the dark side from raising money and consciousness about the plights of animals to using animals to elevate themselves. Along the way they cause harm because they strip away the boundaries of decency. Ridicule and pointing out the harm helps but for those waiting for permission to be cruel, that permission is granted. I guess we just must believe that most persons are kind, that there is a full measure of kindness in the world and know there will always be some malignant beings among us. And we will out run them. Most of all thank you for being there for the good, day after day after day. It can be tough some days. Still keep the light on shining through the window.
