What you wrote about Debra, and Lovey, well....I'm still crying. There were, and are, too many stories like Lovey's, and it hurts, because some of us are trying so hard, to make a difference. With many dogs, and cats, being killed nationwide, for whatever reason, many rescuers/volunteers are suffering from severe depression. It's never ending. On top of that, whenever we read of someone dying, who was instrumental to, or helped, the rescue community, it is gut wrenching, heartbreaking, and compounds that depression.
I am so very sorry that you are gone, Debra, but your legacy will live on.
Until I read this article I had never heard of this person, but how extraordinary she must have been! The story of the little puppy is beyond heartbreaking but you are right, I'm sure they are reunited now. I hope there are more people like Debra Griggs. The animals desperately need such a warrior on their side😥
